Christmas 2016

How fast has the time passed this year! It seems like it was just yesterday that we spent our Christmas in the Philippines. And now, we are looking forward to spend the same in India by the end of the New Year.

The biggest thing that happened this year for us would be our move to our own 'home sweet home'. This happened last September. We wanted to celebrate this Christmas at 23 Dovedale Place and celebrate it well. Who knows where we will be next year?

On 24th of December, we took a break from our tradition and went to St. John for our midnight mass. Our friend Father Lio celebrated the mass. (We used to go to St. Patrick for our midnight mass.). The mass was earlier than the usual 11PM mass of St. Patrick's so we were home by 10ish.

We came home from mass and had some drinks. Then of course, at 12 AM we exchanged gifts.
Here we are with our horde.

25th December, our sumptuous lunch menu includes:
barbecue pork, roast pork, fried chicken, biryani and for dessert we had macaroni, chocolate cake and brownie baked by Suzie,  and Petal's cupcakes.

I must say that our feast was another success.

on 26th December, we had to go to Sylvia Park to join the throng of people
for the mass exodus of shopping. But our main goal this time was to grab
some 2 Degrees free data, hahahaha.

27th December, we took the train and traveled to Onehunga for the promising walks by the harbour.
It was a great day for a walk. It was cloudy and the walkway was wonderful. After our walk, we went to DressSmart for lunch and did a little more shopping.

28th December, we just stayed home then later in the afternoon we went for a walk to St.Benedict's via the Grafton Gully Cycle Way.

31st December 2016, the last day of the year. Steve and I went to the Viaduct to await the New Year. We had some food and drinks at North Park. It was a cozy place with good music and nice ambience. We went at 11:45 PM by the harbour together with a number of revelers for the countdown and fireworks. The Fireworks display of SkyCity was short and sweet.

Hello 2017!!!!May you bring peace and prosperity to all.

1st January 2017, the New Year started with a quiet day at home. We went to mass at St. John's then just rested for the rest of the day.

2nd January was movie date. We watched "Passengers" which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt. It is a Sci fi movie which Steve and I both enjoyed.

4th January 2017, Steve and I went to Te Atutu Peninsula to explore the hidden gems in the area. The beach was lovely and we had a splendid walk. Coming back to the city, we had lunch at Krung Thep Thai Street Food at K Road. After lunch we walked home via the Grafton Gully Walkway.

6th January, today we went for our  Mission Bay walk. We were looking forward to having fish and chips for lunch but they were not open yet so we went to  Mission Bay Cafe for lunch. The food was good and the service excellent.
