Interlude:after the flood. By Zai

There are times in your life when you feel like you are stuck in a rut then suddenly your life changes in a most unexpected way that all you can do is react, accept the change and adapt. That seems to be what has happened to us in the last few weeks. I am not saying we were in a rut since a few months ago, we did have some life changing events that happened to us. All I am saying is that we were sort of on a routine in life for awhile, then,  everything changed. I know this happens to many people every time, but it is always different when it happens to you. It is amazing how you can adapt to change if you are forced to do so. Compared to others, we have been a little lucky. We have been able to go out of our comfort zone and got to experience something new, something that we never thought we would experience. I can say that these new experiences have been good in general. It is sort of a ride to a whole new world. I am so glad that the three of us did this together. I got to meet ...

After the flood, 10th Feb 2023. By Zai

    We were in so much stress on the Friday of 10th February just after I came home from work. There was so much commotion and confusion since Bonnie, who is one of the residents in DOVEDALE, was knocking on people's houses  and telling us that Auckland council has yellow stickered our home and we could not stay there. We were so confused and could not make sense of it. Apparently, someone had called Auckland council and complained about the work being done in the houses after the flood two weeks before. So at 4:30 that day, Auckland council inspected the work and found out that the structure of the houses have been compromised. It has also resulted to a fire hazard scenario. We were in such a state of panic and tried options on where to go that evening. We ended up packing for a night's stay at Beth's house. We slept on the floor of her living room area.
