Davao holiday 
Day Zero 15th March
Shuttle came early 805 PM. At airport by 835 PM. Self check in did not work so finally we queued & got bags, wheelchair etc checked in. Assistance for mum & at gates by 1015 PM. Suz & Zai left 4 home via Ola. We got priority boarding. Good seats near loo. Supper was sesame oil chicken with ginger. Mum had beef. No sleep. Watched a star is born, zombie crazy movie Zonbieputra & girl in spiders web.

Day 1 16th March.  Flight arrived Singapore 620 am early. Got ride to SATS lounge. Used dragon pass. Parked ourselves by accident in the VIP area.  Lol. Mini veg pizza & potato mash was yummy. Had vodka, pandang cken, sausages. Left by 1030 am then lazed in the airport. Plane delayed 45 mins. Lots of Indians. Lucky mum did not have to get down Cebu. At Davao by 645. Got assistance. Luggage, customs etc a breeze. Got home & had chooks to go, Paansit.  Stayed awake until 12 am talking with all incl Aunty Nene.

Day 2. 17th Mar . Royal treatment as I got Zoren room. Crashed to sleep & woke up 4 am with headache. Went 4 a walk to beach by myself. Spoke to Zai. Then walked with Ricson to get cheese spread from 7/11. Had star bread too with green tea. Mass at 9 am at chapel with Zaida & Zairel. Had leftovers chooks to go & rice. Gaga has tummy probs. Slippery elm & ginger juice no help. In the evening we went to Malta medical on a taxi.  Possible appendix. Doc gave medication. Uncle boy came over. We had burgers from Chills backyard in Gulf View. Monster cken was good. Got 8 burgers & fries. Fell asleep. Got 6 GB sun data with calls text for a month with a gig daily 4 watching videos. Nord VPN does not work with Sky go. Will test as it's a 7 day free trial. Grab signed up but no taxis available.  After eating burger I crashed

Day 3 18th March
Woke up 12 am. Zairel still studying. Messaged Zai. Suz called briefly. Trying to go back to sleep. Went to Save more with Zaida Zairel. Got Jim Beam for $17 & grocery. Ricson cooked his famous fried chicken.  Yummy. Zaida took Rene to Davao Doc. Appendix. OP at 9 PM. Went with Zaida & Rene to hospital. Aunty Nene & Uncle Abed drove the Kids who stayed over. We slept in ward. Appendix had burst. Iranian doc. Spoke fluent Visaya.  60k for OP.

 Day 4 19th March Could not sleep much. At 5 am Zaida requested me & Zoren to leave. Had KFC across the road. Bucket. Heavy rains. Schools had day off due to Tropical depression Cheng.Took Grab back to gulf view. Slept for 2 hours. Had clubhouse sandwich from chills then took jeepney at 2 PM with Zoren & signed  Phil heath papers from her principal for Zaida. Rene family at hospital. Met his niece Aya. Zoren & me walked to Majids kebab & got chicken biryani, goat and chicken kebabs 4 dinner. Not very tasty. Rene on liquid diet so his food eaten by Zoren & Zaida. Left for gulf view by 10 pm as Zaida returned after freshening up at home & leaving Zairel at home.

Day 5 20th March
Had cereal & left for hospital by 1030 am. Took jeepney on my own. Toril - Roxas route. Was good ride. Consulted map. Rene discharged by 1 PM.  Took taxi home. Fasting as it's Wednesday. For dinner had scrambled eggs & toasted bread in pan. Requested Zaida for pan & she gave me a pen. Lol. Good laugh.

Day 6 21st March
Cereal 4 brekkie. Went via jeepney to SM mall. Bago route. Had pork breaded cutlet as snack. Was very nice.  Got stuff 4 d house & shopped 4 socks, deo & shirts 4 me. Picked up Zai lippy.  Took taxi home. S & R combo pizza not good but fried chicken yumm. Picked a bucket of southern fried chicken, loaded fries with pork & gravy. Spent nearly 30 mins at Samsung to get tempered glass screen protector. $38. The girl struggled & finally did it on the 2nd attempt.

Day 6 22nd March
Left at 1130 for lunch with Uncle Amay, Boy, Aunty Nita. Mum came along & Uncle Abed drove us there along with Aunty Nene. Damosa just ok so lunched at Ahfat, Vic Plaza. Chinese. Beef pepper was melt in mouth. Beef with broccoli & garlic fried chicken good too. Uncle Amay invited us home & we had hot cakes with honey / butter & French fries. Zharina joined us & off home by 7 PM. Good day out. Gifted Uncle Amay Jim Beam pack. They pleased to see me.

Day 7 23rd March
Kookels chicken & limpo pork 4 lunch. Then to Davao Croc Park by 1 PM. Rene & Zoren did not join us. We had fun so did kids. Live show 4 PM was awesome along with feeding of animals. Finished with fire dance. Dinner as River walk yumm. Grilled pork, battered chicken & pancit yumm. Cultural show gr8. Zairel & Zharina danced. Mum, me & Zharina to Tagum via Marienel van . Zharina setup mosquito net 4 me & charging station so I was all set up. On a sad note my SD card is playing up & videos / pics not showing up.

Day 8 24th March
Had cereal 4 brekkie. Later at 815 am, Ricson dropped me off on bike to Christ the King church. I got the English mass. Just missed the start. Walked back home & enroute picked up shawarma & handwash from NCCC. For lunch went with Ricson to Chooks 2 go & got roast chicken & limpo my new fav. It's grilled pork. 125 pesos. Tasty as. Also picked up coke & 2 bottles of red horse. Had a good sesh with Ricson then good snooze. Woke up & went with Zharina to NCCC to get chicken, mums meds etc . Leftovers 4 dinner. Zamel's friends visited. Wanted me to drink but I declined. Spoke to Zamel. Caught up on Shortland episodes.

Day 9 25th March
Woke up around 4 am as I normally do. Updated this blog as I had not done 4 days. Left at 530 am 4 a walk. Walked to Tipaz & saw the beautiful sunrise & took in the sights of the houses etc. Good 30 mins walk. Green tea & bread with omelette 4 brekkie followed by cereal. Zharina will take Luis & Luke to school & I will head to G mall by 10 am.  Had a browse around G mall. Had a potato snack from Potato giant's.  Was nice. Picked up a 8 piece chicken bucket for 495 pesos along with 3 fries & 6 hot dogs. Loved the Jollibee chicken. Got a box of brownies for 170 pesos. Not bad. Rode a bike from mall to home. 20 pesos. After lunch lazed in bed & watched Netflix Black Mirror.  Gave Zai & Suz a tour of the Tagum estate. Will eat leftover chicken joy & Zharina cooking adobo 4 rest. Zai suggested Zharina take me to night markets but too lazy to go out. Lol.

Day 10 26th March
Luis recognition day. Went with Mum to Mugave hotel. Watched kids perform, Luis receive his awards then took Batchelor air con bus from Tagum terminal 1030 am. In SM by 1230. Chowking lunch 4 mum. Soup with noodles & fried chicken. I went to BDO to withdraw funds & had issue as ATM could not read card. Samsung refused to refund or change screen protector as it's damaged & only 4 days old. Home by 3 PM via taxi & could not get in as Rene asleep. Chooks to go 4 dinner

Day 11 27th March
Woke up 3 am. Nervous. Cebu trip. Had shit then cereal. Leave by 430 am. Ricson dropped me off on bike to gulf view taxi stand. 350 pesos & was at airport by 515 am. Security confiscated my Benetton deo as its inflammable. Plane departed late by 12 mins but we were at Cebu before 8am. Got aisle seat. Took bus to SM city & then negotiated with taxi driver Raul Canada to take me on a tour of Cebu sights for 1700 pesos. He did a gr8 job. Magellan's cross, Taoist temple, temple of Leah & mactan shrine which was shut. Hot dropped off at wharf & took private boat directly to Sagastrand resort. Used a plank to disembark on beach. Checked in early at resort 130 PM. Started to rain. Good room. Chatted Suz * Zai. Hungry. Break the  fast at 5 PM. Went 4 a walk to village & a guy was pestering me 4 fishing. Got rid of him. Walked  back to resort & had omelette with cheese & fries with Sprite 4 dinner. Took fries back to room. Slept by 7 PM.

Day 12 28th March
Woke up early 2 am. Had green tea & fries from last night. Tried to sleep. Woke up 530 am. Went to check sunrise. In pool for 30 mins from 7 am. Had brekkie of scrambled eggs & bacon with toast with green tea. Left the watermelon & mango fruit served. Showered & off at 10 am to Olango bird sanctuary. Hood 15 minute wake. Lots of noisy Koreans. Lol. Spent 2 hours there. Met Loking Soon. Good guy. He enlightened me about birds. Watched birds thru binoculars. Became Facebook mates. Took a ride back for 20 pesos to Casa Blanca & had lunch. 2 San Miguel & Japanese karage chicken. Not bad. Rest in the arvo. Room serviced so all good. Went at 5 PM to check out the sun setting. Not hungry so dinner at 650 PM. Chicken with a sauce dish. Comes with iced tea. Had a San Miguel beer.

Day 13 29th March
Woke up & had green tea by the pool side. Watched part of the remembrance event for Christchurch. Skipped brekkie as my boat pick up was at 930 am but Junas came at 830 am. Checked out 825 am & paid 1155 pesos for food & brekkie. Low tide so had to walk Sagastrand Pier Bridge, where the small boat picked me up to transfer to the banca. The guy who trf me from small boat requested 200 pesos but I say no as I had negotiated with Junas for 1500 pesos return. Banca was choppy & I prayed to get ashore safely. So much banca traffic that I had to jump from boat to boat. Took taxi from Lapu Lapu to Mactan airport & had a chicken pesto bruschetta 4 brunch along with Cafe Mocha. Was yummy. Checked in & waited at gate. Flight delayed 1 hour 30 minutes. Most flights delayed. Air Asia flight to Manila was delayed big time so passengers got free Jollibee. Took taxi to Gulf view around 3 PM & despite heavy traffic paid 400 pesos 4 d ride & home by 4 PM. Zaida was feeling a bit unwell & Zharina went to help her in school. Had battered fried chicken & rice 4 dinner.

Day 14 30th March
Woke up by 4 30 am & we got ready to leave for Samal island by 530 am. Aunty Nene was here with Uncle Abed, Maying & her 3 daughters & Julie. Left before 6 am after having pandesal 4 brekkie. Met Netnet on the way & Uncle Amay & Aunty Nita at the Sasa ferry terminal. Davsam is the ferry name. Huge & it accommodates cars & bikes. 350 pesos for a car with 30 people. We were there in Villa Amparo by 8am. The entire place has been done up & new pools added. 350 pesos entrance 4 adults, 250 for kids. 6000 pesos on entrance & 4500 pesos on food. We had fun. Swam in the ocean & lazed in pools. For lunch we had pancit, tinola chicken soup, breaded & garlic fried chicken with cute cups of rice. Got 4 bottles of San Miguel Grande too. Kids had a ball in the pools. Lovely day out. Chill axed & no dramas. Left by 445 PM else we would need charged an extra 200 pesos per person. Home by 730PM after expected heavy traffic. Washed my shorts, had a shower & put on anti rash powder as I have a rash & feel itchy all over. Skipped dinner & fell asleep.

Day 15 31st March
Had bread with cheese spread 4 brekkie. Green tea. Washed my shoes as full of sand. Zai's mum said her thanks 4 getting her back. Told Zaida I would like to attend mass at San Pedro Cathedral12 PM. If no one keen, I can ride jeepney. Zaida says Rene may drive us. Went for a walk near the beach with Luis. Beach access not allowed as construction on.  Will head by 10 am to city 4 mass. Left at 1030 am.Zoren & Zairel did not join us. English mass at 12 PM then  lunch at 5S Indian resto. Good food. Good bill too. Lol. 5300 pesos. After discount 4900. Lucky Zharina had Ricson salary. Cheese naan was yumm so was Rogan Josh. Ricson wants to cook it. Butter chicken, mango lassi & tandoori platter yum too. Rice was hard. Took goat biryani home & naan Rogan josh 4 Zo & Zairel. After lunch, photo shoot for Zaida masters. Home by 6 PM.

Day 16 1st April
Took a walk around Gulf view with Luis. He not keen to walk. Yummy bacon 4 brekkie. Rene drove me & Zoren to SM City, Ecoland & we had Japanese food at Tokyo Tokyo 4 lunch. My chicken pepper was yumm. 500 pesos for 3 of us with drinks . Soup & dessert 4 me. Did grocery shopping 4 Zaida home. Got pork lumpia or spring rolls 4 dinner. Was yumm. Ricson fried. We had a session with Smirnoff mule ( vodka   ginger beer & lemon) & lumpia. Then we had San Miguel. Good night

Day 17 2nd April
Last full day in Davao. Around 10 am went with Zoren to G mall,  Toril.  Took jeepney. Jeepney was super fast with music blaring. Even the small baby was clapping to beats. Lol. Wandered around mall. Lunch at Mang inasal. 28 minute wait but worth it. Chicken moist & bbq perfectly. Then bought chicken thighs 2 kgs & Shanghai lumpia 4 dinner .For drinks Korean wine. Tom grab taxi home. Had a slice of Santorini pizza beef on the Amway & took cheesy potato fries & bbq fries home.Uncle boy & Aunty Nene / Uncle Abed came in the evening. Ricson very kindly fried all the chicken & spring rolls. One batch of fried chicken was made spicy. We enjoyed it with the 16% strong Chimasul Korean wine. I had 1.5 bottles. Rest had with Sprite. Later we walked streets of gulf view with our bottles of wine & picked up Zoren from basketball court. Said good bye to Aunty Nene & Uncle Abed who joked his English was getting fluent after drinking the Korean wine. Took pics & in bed by 1030 PM. Had credit of 130 pesos from Grab so gave mobile load 100 pesos to Ricson & 25 pesos to Zairel.

Day 18 3rd April
Holidays over. Went 4 a walk 4 d last time. Had leftover biryani as no one eating it. Ricson heated it 4 me. Zaida tasted a bit. Said bye to Zairel & Ricson as they can't make it to airport. Packed my bags. Only 13 kgs.  Zaida will return lunch time from school. Head to airport by 130 PM. Chills backyard burgers 4 lunch. Was a good holiday. Sad to go but home beckons. Zaida bought a lovely chocolate cake from red ribbons. Left 138 PM.  Airport 240 PM. Emotional farewell. Checked luggage & paid 700 pesos departure fee. Boarded plane 440 PM & arrived Singapore 1020 PM. Had an aisle seat. Had to disembark at Cebu. Crazy. Fish was over so had to have chicken with yummy rice, beans & boiled egg served with a spicy sauce. Did not drink booze. Took Skytrain to Terminal 3. Walked around. Not as flash as T2. Board flight at 1140 pm. Got window seat

Day 19 4th April
7.5 hours flight . Watched movies. Supper was chicken in mustard sauce & spuds. Had Singapore sling.Brekkie was bread roll, muffin & green tea. Reached Melbourne by 1030 am. Did security etc & was at gate by 11 am to board the flight to Auckland. Aisle seat. Best feature was in flight free wifi. Osso Buco beef stew with beans & polenta. Yummy. Brownie as dessert. Had a Stella Artois. Watched movie Ash is purest white. Reached Auckland 530 PM. Got booze, luggage.  Huge customs queues. Was out by 610 PM. Suz & Zai welcomed me. Took Ola as $30 fares but got charged $41 which Ola refunded in full. Good to be home. Had pork pilaf. Was yumm but a bit spicy. Had shower & went to bed.
