The year that's been

It is easy to be lost in the quagmire of life and to forget the little beautiful moments that we experience in life. We must take time to reflect and thank the Almighty for the small things and the big things that has come by. Yes, these couple of years have not been very easy, but maybe there are blessings here and there that we have to praise the Lord for.

We are still living in suspense, if I may say, with Steve still on the verge of being listed back for heart transplant anytime. Aside from this, Auckland and the rest of the country had been in Covid lockdown for the past 3 months now. We are just coming out of it now with the vaccination campaign on a roll.

Recently too, I had fears for mama Baby’s health. The stroke she suffered had caused so much tension for the family, not only mentally, spiritually but also financially. However, we have been given with precious time to still be with each other and to enjoy the time that we can be together.

Oh how we took for granted how free we were before Covid. These times, we are very restricted in what we can do. We can’t travel just like that to any place, local or international. I feel like we are trapped and we prisoners because of Covid. The restrictions in place at the moment with travelling and the fear of contracting the disease while you are travelling grips each of us and we are paralysed in a way.

It seems that we are just hanging on a thread and living our lives day by day. We are trying to make do and to deal with our day to day the best that we can. We are living each day like we are in a box, not knowing what will happen next. Waiting and hoping that the world will go back to how it was before. Will it ever be the same again? Can we enjoy life as we had before without fear stopping us.

Hope is there and we thank the Lord that our immediate families have been spared. We will continue to pray and hope for more time together and to enjoy the lives we have. Even now that we are no longer have the freedom that we used to have, we keep wishing for the best.

Lastly, Sam who have stayed with us for 7 years has decided to leave and stay with his friends. It is amazing how quickly the years passed and yet it seems it was like just yesterday when he came and stayed.
