Till we meet again Mum Antoinette, we love you.

We had an awful news that mum had a stroke and in very serious condition on the early hours of 29thNov. We had to take the plunge and go to India to see mum, for the last time it would seem. We flew on 1st December from Auckland to Malaysia. We had a 12 hour layover at Malaysia then another 5 hours to Mumbai. The flight to Mumbai was delayed for an hour so we only arrive in Naigaon on Friday at around 5 PM. We immediately went to the hospital.mum was in ICU and lucky they allowed all 3 of us to see mum together. It is heartbreaking to see mum in such condition. All we wanted was for her to wake up and say hello to us. But it was not meant to be. Mum stayed with us for 3  days. The 4  of us had shifts to be with mum in the hospital. On the Saturday, she was moved to a private room and we were able to be with her. On the early morning of 6th Dec when Steve and I were getting ready to relieve dad in hospital, we got the call that she had passed away. No more pain mum, no more difficulty breathing and no more worry that we have to leave you in a hospice with strangers. We had the funeral in the same day. All went like clockwork, the dress was organised, the wake at home for a few hours. Then the funeral was at 4 pm. There were a number of people who attended the funeral. We were lucky that there was some holiday that day and many people were able to say their farewell to mum.

If was decided that the Months mind mass will be held on 12th December at 9:30 am mass and prayer service at 12:30.  Again, everything was organised well: the flower arrangement on the grave, the prayer service, Ayasha's eulogy, and the food. We expected about 100 people to attend but only about 50 came. So there were so much food leftover which was shared to neighbours and family.

Mum, thank you for welcoming me to the family with open arms. You have been wonderful to me. I love you very much. May the welcoming light of God envelop you. May you be happy now with your family who have also departed. Keep watch over us. Please pray for Steve and keep him safe and well. Don''t worry about us, we will take care of each other.
