Thoughts on getting older
by Zai
I have turned 51 last year and will be turning 52 this year. I have noticed that I am feeling my age. I feel that I should not be saying it out loud, however I can't help but notice the changes that are happening to me, specially physically.
I did not want to concentrate mostly on the physical but it is the most noticeable.
Health issues:
high blood pressure
high cholesterol
border line diabetes
Body aches:
Back pain
Knee pain
shoulder pain
hand pain
Physical changes:
hands are no longer as supple and soft
Neck has lines and other body parts
face have more lines and discoloration, wounds don't heal as fast
white hair
I know we are meant to grow old. It had never bothered me before. I used to think that the elderly have their own beauty. But when we are at that stage that we are entering the aging process and the clock is slowly ticking, I now understand why trying to stay young has always been one of the desires of people. When you start to feel the process of getting old in your own life, and how it is changing you as a person, on how you do things and how you feel about yourself, then you can understand that getting old needs getting used to.
