The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***

The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** Hint: don't read this article if you are offended by the F-word ;)   By Mark Manson / Source: MarkManson.net In my life, I have given a fuck about many people and many things. I have also not given a fuck about many people and many things. And those fucks I have not given have made all the difference. People often say the key to confidence and success in life is to simply “not give a fuck.” Indeed, we often refer to the strongest, most admirable people we know in terms of their lack of fucks given. Like “Oh, look at Susie working weekends again, she doesn’t give a fuck.” Or “Did you hear that Tom called the company president an asshole and still got a raise anyway? Holy shit, that dude does not give a fuck.” Or “Jason got up and ended his date with Cindy after 20 minutes. He said he wasn’t going to listen to her bullshit anymore. Man, that guy does not gi...

I have so many things to be thankful for the last year. Even though I had a most trying time with being made redundant from my last job, in the end I a...
Courtesy :  Harley M Storey  CEO, Executive Coach  "The Life Coach Toolman!" I had cycled in to the city to buy tickets for an international motorcycling event, and as I was riding around the city square, the enchanting strains of a bamboo flute drifted toward me. I followed the sound and sat down near the guy busking on Main Street. I had a great time relaxing in the sun, listening to some live music and watching the crowd go by. It wasn’t until I was preparing to leave, that I noticed right next to us there was some very noisy road construction underway. I didn’t even hear it. I was listening so intently to the music that I didn’t notice the jarring din of the jackhammers and generators. (You can see the plastic security barriers in the photo.) Just like a radio, I had tuned out the sound of the construction and tuned in to the beautiful music. Over Christmas and New Year we are all too aware that the values of charity and peace get lost in a whirl of sales, shop...

This time around...

Image
It was my last day yesterday working for The Nile (Mercury Retail). For the second time around, I say goodbye to the place which was like my second home. This time around though there is no going back. I now have to embrace the change. Thank God I have one month to think about what I am going to do. I am still in limbo, unsure of my next move. But I have to take it one day at a time. I can't stress about tomorrow. I have to learn that change is good. And may God provide for me. I need to trust that something better is out there for me. In the meantime, Steve and I are excited to go to India for our holiday. It will be a blast. To celebrate:

The Incredible Wisdom Of The Oyster!

Image
Did you know that the oyster started the personal development movement? It's been turning rough bits of sand into pearls for thousands of years! Meanwhile us humans moan about our problems, worries and stress! In previous emails we discussed how our treasure is wrapped up and disguised within our "issue" as baggage. The issue that you struggle with has been brought to you for a reason. Something that you have been given to be in relationship with, reconcile yourself with, something to rub the sharp edges off you. Something to literally "make peace" with. You could think of your issue as a exquisite quill pen or fine brush held within the hands of Life and guided by the compassion of the Universe ... are you going to let go and let "Life" write upon you the message you were born to bring into the world? Your issue is your path to becoming the real you - your unique gift to the world. What's your unique gift to the world? Being who you truly...
